The Petroleum Safety and Technology Center in Williston, ND offers Introduction to Petroleum Technology, Service Rig Training Program, Floorhand training for well servicing. Non-credit Training Program: This one week (40 hour) program will prepare individuals for entry level employment on a service rig. The training program will provide an understanding of petroleum technology and its principles of operation and control. Individuals will understand the safety issues, the technical aspects and the responsibilities of the work. Pre-requisite: 40-Hour New Hire Safety Training At the end of the program, individuals will receive a Certificate of Completion. Cost of this program is $750. the cost of the 40-Hour New Hire Safety Training Program is included in the fee. Additional items individuals will need include: Must be Drug and Alcohol Free Must be at least 18 years old *Must obtain a drug test dated within 30 days of the first classroom day of the Floorhand Training (copy of the drug test should be attached to the application) *Must have documentation for I-9, including: Drivers License or Picture ID card, and Social Security Card Must provide half-a-dozen gloves for training purposes Must provide coveralls Must provide steel-toe safety boots (ANSI approved, lace up recommended) Must be able to lift 100 pounds Personal transportation is mandatory for traveling to and from the class and for traveling between home and rig location *Provide medical information, including: personal medications accompanied by a written prescription and emergency contact information. Must be clean-shaven or willing to shave for safety regulations A copy of these items (*), must be provided one week prior to training start date. Payment is due at that time.
